Sacred Space was founded in 2001 by our Certified Landscape Designer, Melanie Rekola. Melanie, an accomplished artist & creative dynamo, possesses a lifelong passion for design and all things green. As a compliment to her extensive design background, she studied horticulture through the University of Guelph. What Melanie strives for in her drawings are; Beauty, Functionality, & Sustainability. Combining all of these skills together has afforded Sacred Space four “Cities in Bloom” awards, a Unilock “Award of Excellence “, a Landscape Ontario “Award of Excellence” plus a national award from David Suzuki. Melanie is also quickly becoming a well-known garden writer, featured in “Pools, Spas, and Patios” , “ Our Homes” magazine and more.

Another key component to Sacred Space is it’s Construction Manager, Andrew Beattie. Andrew studied Landscape Technology through Humber College and has always possessed a natural skill toward heavy machinery and all aspects of construction. His studies and abilities have given him a successful 20 years of professional experience. His keen eye and attention to detail results in a product of pure quality.
