Living Walls |
Living walls are an engineered wall system that allows living plant material to live within the wall. They can be used in many applications such as attached to an existing wall (inside or out) or free standing. Living walls are not only spectacularly beautiful, but have many benefits for ourselves and the environment. These are as follows:
- Living walls conserve energy by insulating the building envelope, reducing the need for heating and cooling.
- They create biodiversity, and create food for pollinators.
- They absorb and filter storm water, which reduces local water body pollution.
- Living walls also clean air particles, improving the air quality and help to reduce the urban heat effect.
- In the interior application, plants clean the air in your home or office and also add humidity to the air in winter.
